A quarter century of progress

In 1999, Patrick Zemp had a visionary idea in Sursee: to open the first regional nutrition store. His goal was to offer people in Switzerland not only high-quality products but also trustworthy and expert advice.
In 2009, Switzerland's first 24/7 fitness center opened in St. Erhard. This opportunity to train around the clock was a groundbreaking innovation. The freedom to work on your goals at any time of day or night remains a core value of Progress to this day.
In 2012, the Progress Sports Club relocated to Sursee and expanded its premises. The new training equipment and additional training options made it even more attractive to fitness enthusiasts.
In 2016, the club expanded to an impressive 2,000 square meters in the Stierli area in Sursee. The spacious facility, featuring a cross-training area and a running track, was also integrated into the Sports Club.
In 2020 , shortly before the first lockdown, the two-story Ninja Warrior course with a warped wall was opened.
In 2022, the next generation followed in the company's footsteps: daughter Vanessa Zemp with zemp management gmbh. With fresh ideas and a clear vision, she is leading the Progress brand into a successful future.
In 2023, Patrick Zemp expanded his production facility in central Switzerland to make the development and production of his nutritional supplements even more efficient. Together with his dedicated team, he works passionately to create the best products. The goal is to always provide optimal support for health and fitness – with high-quality nutritional supplements handcrafted in Switzerland and developed with the utmost care.
2024 will bring a new dimension to the Sports Club: a top-of-the-line TrackMan golf simulator combined with a putting green. A fantastic addition for all golf fans, one that passionate golfer Vanessa Zemp has integrated into the concept.
In 2025, Vanessa Zemp opened the first location under the new zempFIT label in Flühli, Lucerne – a modern sports club in the heart of the mountains, based on the proven 24/7 concept. The doors officially opened on March 8th. Further locations are already being planned – always following the motto: self-determination. fit. anytime.

As a former competitive athlete, she brings with her a deep understanding of fitness and health, which she has acquired both through her own athletic career and through years of professional experience.
Today, Vanessa Zemp is also a passionate golfer, which further strengthens her connection to sports and exercise. Under her leadership, the Progress Sports Club is continuously expanding to almost 2,000 square meters. The focus is clearly on adapting to the individual needs of each athlete and enabling self-directed training. Together with her team, Vanessa Zemp ensures that the club continues to grow, takes on new challenges, and offers a sustainable sports and health experience.

From Vital to Progress

The original logo, now known as "Progress," was created by Patrick Zemp in 1999 and was called "Vital." This name was deliberately chosen to embody the values of vitality and health promotion—principles that Patrick Zemp passionately advocates. Over time, the concept of "Vital" evolved, and a new guiding principle emerged: progress, symbolized by "Progress." This shift reflects the belief that true health is achieved not only through vitality, but also through continuous development and personal growth. "Progress" represents the brand's constant improvement and unceasing evolution, always striving to find new ways to sustainably enhance the well-being and quality of life of its customers.
